Merana Aboriginal Community Association for the Hawkesbury

Merana supports Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples of the Hawkesbury LGA, Riverstone, Londonderry and Cranebrook areas. Merana provides a range of services including Supported Playgroup, After School Program, Family Fun Days, Outreach, Aboriginal Men's and Women's Groups, Dance Group, Drug and Alcohol Mentoring Program, Support Senior's to keep them connected in community, organises Hawkesbury NAIDOC Concert and Ball annually, Confirmation of Aboriginality to eligible people, information, advice and referral.

Step by Step Recovery Support Service

Step by Step provides post-disaster psychosocial support to bushfire and flood affected residents living in the Lithgow, Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury regions. We provide personalised case-management support to people affected by the recent disaster events. We are a free, mobile outreach service providing tailored assistance with insurance, rebuilding, links to recovery resources and services as well as immediate emotional and social support. We focus on strengthening people's well-being and resilience as they start on the road to recovery.

Peppercorn Services Incorporated

Peppercorn Services Inc. provides support services to a wide range of people located within the local government areas of the Hawkesbury, Penrith, Blue Mountains, Hornsby, Gosford and the Hills. We care for families, people who are aged and those who experience disadvantage, vulnerability and isolation. Or core services include community transport, centre based meals and social support for seniors, early intervention and prevention support for families, parenting programs and playgroup as well as community capacity building, community readiness and resilience programs, early childhood education and lawn and garden maintenance.

Strong Nation Community Services

Strong Nation Community Services is the community arm of Strong Nation Church. It is a not-for-profit organisation working within the Hawkesbury LGA.
Strong Nation Community provides a range of services including EAPA vouchers for electricity and gas accounts. Emergency relief hampers. SHS (Specialist Homelessness Services) supporting families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. As well as Early Years Family Support, helping families experiencing difficulties who have at least one child under 3 years of age. We also have a not-for-profit program called Community FoodCare which provides low-cost groceries to families and individuals facing financial challenges.

Baptist Church located in North Richmond that has factory units. We have rooms, storage spaces, a kitchen and a general-purpose auditorium with PA and video facilities. Outdoor social area and adjacent to Turnbull Oval and Panthers Nth Richmond.
Hawkesbury Valley Counselling Service and a Pastoral Care service are onsite.

Homeless outreach. Providing free community meals in a local park, food, toiletries, clothing, tents, bedding to the homeless and disadvantaged. Providing food relief with hampers. School lunches provided. Breakfast Club. School backpack drive. Free Christmas day lunch. Formal wear programme, providing formal attire for those who cannot afford to buy their formal wear. Support The Girls Australia

Support The Girls Australia is a charity that provides a grassroots framework of action to empower women to escape the cycle of poverty, violence, trauma or multiple structural oppression’s. Transformation of the individual and transformation of the community unfold simultaneously. Spaces are created for women from all walks of life to foster relationships with other women in the community regardless of income, creed, age, or cultural background.
This call to action starts by ensuring women have dignity and respect by providing them with professionally fitted bras and underwear. Our services, specifically our Bra Gifting Events and mobile Outreach Project are delivered to people who are at risk of homelessness, living in a dv shelter or disenfranchised and regardless of a person's ethnicity, gender, culture, language, religion, disability, lawful sexual activity or location we will support them.

Riverstone Neighbourhood Centre and Community Aid Service Inc

Riverstone Neighbourhood Centre is a long established, not for profit charity providing services and programs that are engaging, meaningful and culturally respectful for individuals and families. We offer a diverse range of opportunities for vulnerable people across the life span. We build community capacity, aim to improve life opportunities, promote social cohesion through belonging and inclusion, and support vulnerable individuals and families. We facilitate improved access to essential services and provide enhanced opportunities for connection with our available halls, meeting space, youth centre, community shed and community garden. We build community connections by facilitating local interagencies, community consultation and enabling community engagement on issues of concern, particularly during times of crisis, such as the lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now with the recent floods in the Hawkesbury.

One Meal - It Makes a Difference

One Meal – It Makes a Difference is a 100% volunteer, Sydney based not for profit community organisation that helps to feed, clothe and support the homeless and underprivileged.
Our mission is to provide nutritious meals and a range of human services to the homeless, destitute, impoverished and underprivileged people in our community and to assist in advancing their well-being, outlook on life and prospects for future independence – and to do so with strong ethics and integrity.
We run weekly meal services in Blacktown, Cronulla, Darlinghurst, Engadine, Kingsgrove, Manly, Miranda, Narraweena, Riverwood, Surry Hills and Sutherland.
In addition to our meal services, our Community Co-op hamper programs operating in Sutherland Shire, at Blacktown and on the Northern Beaches provide thousands of meals (fresh produce, prepared meals and non-perishables) each week to families and individuals in need.
