Our impact

Since our inception in 2009, GIVIT is proud to have facilitated the donation of almost 9 million goods and services to people experiencing hardship, working with almost 5,000 charity partners around Australia. This includes communities who have been devastated by a natural disaster, families who have escaped domestic and family violence or individuals experiencing homelessness or living with a mental illness or a disability. Every donation has a big impact on someone doing it tough.

1. Person in need

A person in need connects with a local charity registered with GIVIT to request essential goods or services.

Connecting donations to real need

2. Charity Partner

The charity checks the GIVIT online warehouse for available donations that will assist their person in need. If there are no matches, the charity registers the request on GIVIT.org.au.

Made possible by generous donors

3. Donor

Generous GIVIT donors, including corporate partners, browse the What’s Needed list and donate items or services that are needed right now. This could be a physical item, time and skills or funds to purchase goods. Our charity partner then delivers the requested goods to the person in need.

GIVIT's impact in the community

A 2022 report commissioned by the Centre for International Economics found that GIVIT has a 12:1 benefit-cost ratio for communities. The value of social benefits GIVIT provides to the community is estimated at $37 million per year, increasing to $50 million a year by 2030.
