GIVIT provides office supplies and kitchen items
Toora Women Inc. and Louisa Domestic Violence Service, two community organisations helping women throughout the ACT, recently received much-needed donations of kitchen and stationery supplies when Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS) relocated to a new building.
The non-for-profit organisations provide homelessness, domestic violence, alcohol and other drug treatment services to women and children, and received these much-needed items when TCCS teamed up with GIVIT to co-ordinate the donation.
Upon planning their relocation, TCCS realised there would be many items that they no longer required. Instead of disposing of these, they approached GIVIT and took the opportunity to rehome office supplies and other unwanted items to benefit Canberrans in need of a hand.
GIVIT matches generosity to genuine need
When the ACT Government approached GIVIT to help rehome the items, the GIVIT team reached out to local registered community organisations including Toora Women Inc. and Louisa Domestic Violence Service, and realised there was a huge need for these household and technology items.

The donation of these items to women and children within the ACT was extremely powerful in making these vulnerable people feel supported during a difficult time.
This is the perfect example of why GIVT is the smart way to give. We connect donors and community organisations to make sure people and communities get exactly what they need, when they need it.
GIVIT is incredibly grateful to the ACT government for its ongoing support of GIVIT. This story originally appeared on the ACT Governments website here.
