Recipient story

Kimberley Flooding
We are an on country remote residential school catering for senior secondary Indigenous students.
Our key aim is to re-engage students in learning, many of whom have been disengaged from their local schools for extended periods of time. The impacts of the Kimberley Floods were severe on the whole of our school community and are still being felt. Many students and their families as well as school staff lost their homes with some still living in temporary accommodation.
We strive to develop students who are able to thrive successfully in a world beyond school, on a pathway of their choice. Our unique curriculum focuses on equipping students to make healthy choices for themselves, whilst strengthening their sense of culture and identity. Significant time is also given to ensure students are work ready; time is given to developing work place skills, as well as strengthening their sense of the breath of career options open to them.
