Our branches provide financial support to people in their community to ensure they can afford cancer treatment costs.
Cancer is expensive. It is almost always more expensive the further you live from a metropolitan area. Last financial year this branch spent just over $20,000 on local cancer patients - helping them get to treatment (often with petrol vouchers), paying for accommodation, utility bills, groceries and helping them with out of pocket medical expenses. Our branches raise money in their local area and every cent raised stays with the branch to be spent on patients from the local area who are undergoing cancer treatment. Our main sources of fundraising activities have ceased because of COVID-19 yet we continue to provide financial assistance to the people who need it most.
