Social Media Assistant/Content Creator

In the last 12 months, GIVIT has coordinated the donation of more than 1.7 million items through over 4,600 organisations to help people in need. In doing so, we’ve diverted 550 tonnes of items from landfill. And we’re growing fast. Want to come along for the ride?
You’re passionate about using amazing content and social media to inspire an audience and create positive social change. You thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment and use your talents to keep content fresh. You’re able to turn out great creative (video, assets and copy) quickly.
Our standard is high-quality, big-hearted engaging content that converts, so you have to be willing to challenge yourself consistently to raise the bar — for yourself and our team. You love people, being creative, being a fierce champion for changing the face of giving in Australia.
This role will involve everything from storyboarding, shooting and editing video content to tell GIVIT’s story, to identifying content needs, gaps and requirements, and contributing to the team editorial calendar.
As a part of our team, you’ll wear many hats and have the opportunity to help grow and shape the future of GIVIT. The only limit is your drive, commitment and imagination.
Does this describe you?

Education & Qualifications
- Multimedia skills including video production, editing and graphic design.
- Working knowledge of image and video editing software such as Adobe Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro and Canva (or similar).

Victoria Manager

Your varied work week will see you raising GIVIT's profile in Victoria, building relationships with government agencies, charities, and corporate and community donors, and driving and securing donations of goods and funds to meet disaster recovery and charity needs. You’ll also oversee GIVIT's Victorian Disaster Recovery Service contract with the Victorian Government ensuring all donated offers of goods and services are managed effectively to meet genuine need after natural disasters.
In this role you will:
- Establish and maintain strong and effective relationships with state and local government, recovery agencies, charity networks and corporate donors.
- Manage or oversee partnerships with charities and community organisations across Victoria to build their capacity and meet the needs of their clients.
- Lead GIVIT's Victorian team to support local government, charities and community organisations in preparation for, and recovery from, natural disasters, drought and emergencies.
- Manage GIVIT’s Victorian team to deliver on key GIVIT programs such as domestic violence, digital inclusion, COVID and Indigenous.
- Ensure you meet all agreed Victorian service level agreements including key performance measures and all reporting obligations.
- Identify opportunities for ensuring the sustainability of GIVIT services.
- Build relationships and enhance GIVIT's reputation across all stakeholder groups, ensuring the organisation's brand is protected.
- Play a key role in risk management.
- Ensure effective management of human, financial and physical resources.
- Act as a media spokesperson, as required, and represent GIVIT in a variety of settings, including media opportunities, public forums, events and conferences.
- Work with GIVIT's Marketing and Communication team to raise awareness of GIVIT day-to-day and GIVIT's Disaster Recovery Service.
- Report to the National Manager.

Skills and experience you possess:
- Key stakeholder relations are your thing! You love navigating your way at a senior level within state and local governments, recovery agencies, charities, corporates and local communities forming long-term collaborative and effective partnerships.
- Exceptional reporting skills, you know the importance of outstanding, accurate and timely reports.
- Next-level project management skills, show us your proven capacity in planning, implementing, reviewing and achieving project goals and objectives.
- Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Expertise in managing government-contracted services and commitments.
- Skills to be a competent and effective media spokesperson and confident public speaker.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in fast-paced and rapidly changing work environments.
- Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience (at least 5 years) in Disaster Management (Recovery), Business or related discipline.

Candidates must have a current and valid driver's licence and their own vehicle. The position is a full-time 6-month contract with the potential opportunity to extend.
