Red Cross Night Cafe

Night Cafe opened it's doors in the basement of City Hall in 2001, as a joint project between the Australian Red Cross and Brisbane City Council, to provide a safe space for young people (12-25 years of age) experiencing homelessness to access at night.

Refugee Connect

We provide a range of English, computer and first aid classes; in home tutoring for the kids and budgeting and English support for the parents; we help them navigate various government and non-government agencies; Counselling, Student financial assistance and Ros even supports the ladies in the Birthing ward. This is all done in a friendly community environment.

The Romero Asylum Seekers Resource Centre Mercy Community Services

The Romero Centre was established in 2000 in direct response to people arriving in Australia seeking asylum. and it is a part of Mercy Community Services. The name came after Archbishop Oscar Romero who was a human right campaigner and known by his saying "The Ones who have a voice must speak out for those who are voiceless". The Centre provides direct services, case coordination and material aid to people seeking asylum and refugees. The Centre runs an inclusion programs such English class, women's Group and Art Works, referrals and crisis response for those most vulnerable. The Romero Centre does not receive any government funding and relies on donations. The donations received from Community provides for the emergency relief, material aid and provision of services.

The Karuna Hospice Service Limited

We provide in-home palliative and spiritual care and counselling to people with terminal illness to live well and die peacefully.

University of QLD Union

The UQ student Union, is an independent student led organisation,that is separate from the university. It's main aims are to empower & advocate for students facing hardship while studying to support them to stay engaged in their studies.

The main support branches of the union are firstly, the student leaders who, are the voice for students, listening to issues then campaigning and advocating on behalf of the student body to make change for students at UQ for the better. They do this through social campaigns and creating programs designed to improve support to students.

The other branch is the student advocacy and support team who are a team of professionals who provide targeted, tailored support to individual students who are in crisis. Advocating on their behalf to address educational, social, emotional and psychological issues impacting their lives and studies. They also provide practical support, which help to address issues such as poverty in the form of loans and a foodbank.

Anglicare SQ - Homelessness Services - Women & Families

Support Accommodation for women and children at risk of homelessness.

Anglicare homelessness service for women and Families. We work with single women over the age of 18 who are currently experiencing homelessness. The accommodation provided is short term emergency accommodation and we support the women to link into other services and support them in gaining longer term housing through dept. of housing or community housing programmes.
We also work with young women aged 16-25 who are pregnant or parenting. We again work with them around finding longer term housing options and moving on from homelessness.

Full Circle Projects Inc

Full Circle Projects(FCP) is a new and innovative Intensive Case Management and support
program for people at risk in the Moreton Bay Shire Council Region of Brisbane. FCP aims to
provide sustainable improvements to peoples situations by: The use of a vehicle for direct
client engagement and support after hours and on weekends; Utilising existing partnership who provide short term and semi-
permanent accommodation; The allocation of funds to pay up to three months rent in
advance with any prospective accommodation, freeing up funds for essential items needed
for work-related or study needs; To provide emergency relief brokerage for practical support
as a part of collaborative intensive case management plans for individuals and families;
Ongoing follow up support during working hours.

Magic Moments Foundation - Brisbane Basket Brigade

The Brisbane Basket Brigade serves the greater Brisbane metropolitan area and has been in existence for more than 15 years. In 2022 we have a Committee of 13 people assisting to make it the biggest and best year yet. Each year we have been successful in providing baskets of food and presents to people in need at Christmas. We are always seeking more volunteers for Packing Day, donations of goods and food for packing and presents, and donations of funds.

Stepping Stone Clubhouse

Stepping Stone is a community intentionally organised to support individuals living with the effects of mental illness. Through participation in a clubhouse people are given the opportunities to rejoin the worlds of friendships, family, important work, employment, education, and to access the services and supports they may individually need. A clubhouse is a restorative environment for people who have had their lives drastically disrupted, and need the support of others who believe that recovery from mental illness is possible for all.

Orange Sky Laundry Inc

Orange Sky Laundry is the world's first free mobile laundry service for the homeless. A crazy idea in 2014 to put two washing machines and two dryers in a van and wash and dry clothes for free. Starting in the streets of Brisbane, Orange Sky has now grown to 9 services across Australia in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney, Sunshine Coast, Canberra, Perth, Adelaide, SE Melbourne and now does over 5.8 tonnes of laundry every week. However most importantly, having over 1,200 hours of positive and genuine conversations every week.
