Young apprentice looking after elderly mother with advanced dementia trying to keep her warm

28 year old young man starting an apprenticeship (low income) trying to care for and keep his mother at home, even though she has advanced dementia. All his income is going on care supports for mum. They live in a very cold part of Victoria and this winter has seen safety concerns for mum as they only have a wood heater and with her memory loss this has meant that she has been letting the fire go out and she has been getting very cold.
We are looking for a split system to go in the lounge room to keep mum warm, the son has got a community member who could install it safely and at no cost, so they just need the unit. We are also looking for an oil heater for her bedroom.
This young man is doing everything he can to keep mum at home for as long as possible but he is really worried about her getting cold when he is not there. He has put his life on hold to take on this caring role, he is working hard for minimum wage and he just needs a little help.
